Ritual Relationships- The Genesis of a Psychic Art Form
The forms of interpersonal relationships in Western culture have been socially engineered to achieve performance of certain practical results, much like tools. All bet vanished from our culture are the magical relationships that mediate between aboriginal peoples and their psychic ecologies, both individual and collective. The Enlightenment has given us the great powers of reason, but rid us of all but a few containers for relationships of purely ritual nature, which access so directly the archetypal theatre of the psyche.
Launched from a Jungian platform, artist Tim Holmes proposes what he sees as a new art form: a vessel for the exploration of the live theatre of one's own unconsious, through Ritual Relationships, a strange combination of theatre, psychotherapy and espionage.
