Traveling through the European countryside gives me a visceral feeling of the scale of living a life that is deeply rooted in the earth. Not three generations ago most of the world's population were small farmers and lived a life very intimately tied to the fertile earth and the immediate weather. In these paintings I am simply noting the music of nature to which the objects around us are already dancing.
