Many years ago a painter gave me a tub of a "fat medium" to use with oil painting. I neglected it since, until I wanted to explore both the added texture and the loss of control that using this pasty substance offered. In this sea storm the effect is just what I was after. This large painting pulses with energy and chaos, emphasized by the layers of scrappy texture and over-lid color that gives a feeling of turmoil I needed.
